- Who Will Benefit from War? Russia-Ukraine Crisis Escalates
Submitted by Mike Skruggs: 1/25/2022: The situation continues to escalate between Russia and Ukraine and Russia and NATO, including the United States. It may be the most intense and dangerous European situation in decades. However, a Russian Federation invasion of Ukraine in not inevitable. Such an invasion would be bad for Russia, Ukraine, NATO, and the U.S. A significant European conflict would advance China and perhaps Iran tactically and strategically. German environmental polices very similar to those proposed by U.S. Democrats are making Germany and much of Europe dependent on Russian oil and natural gas. Not a good situation for strong NATO economic sanctions on Russia. - Truths, Ideals of MLK's Message Have Been Lost to Wokeism
Truths, Ideals of MLK’s Message Have Been Lost to Wokeism By Star Parker The Daily Signal We celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the third Monday of January. This year, that’s Jan. 17. On Aug. 28, 1963, King delivered one of the great speeches in American history, popularly known as the “I Have a Dream” speech. It is a speech that must be dusted off and studied anew today, because it contains the very message that our nation sorely needs to hear and digest now. It’s a message that has been tragically lost and buried and replaced with great and destructive distortions. Two things jump out when reading through that speech: One is how this black preacher captured in his words that day the heart and soul of America. Second, how King’s great message that day stands in total contrast to the rhetoric peddled by today’s progressives as the remedy to our racial strife. The indictment of the woke movement is that America is the problem. King offered up America as the solution. He talked about the “magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.” “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'” The problem, as King explained, is not America or the eternal truths that were brought to bear in its founding. The problem was the failure of the nation to live up to the challenges of its great founding principles. That was the heart of King’s message that day. He appealed to the nation to realize the dream of its Founding Fathers, not to crush it and bury it, as we hear today. The problem is not white people. “The marvelous new militancy … must not lead us to a distrust of all white people,” he said. And, of course, the most memorable and oft-quoted line of the speech, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” What has happened instead? Where has this great message of King gotten lost? In the name of racial justice, our race campaigns today are defined by selection and placement based on race, based on the color of skin, and not based on the content of character, as King implored the nation to do. King’s speech is divided into three parts. Part one is an appeal to the nation to live up to its great founding principles. Part two is an appeal to black Americans to rise up and act accordingly in the noble cause of the pursuit of liberty and justice. Let’s not drink “from the cup of bitterness.” Part three is an appeal to the ideals of the Christian soul of the nation. He quoted the prophet Isaiah that “the crooked places will be made straight … and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.” Biblical truths and ideals have been sadly lost to wokeism, which has for all practical purposes become a religion in itself. Let’s honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. now, as we come out of COVID-19 and enter 2022, by revisiting and taking to heart the great truths he spoke on that summer day in Washington, D.C., in 1963. They are great truths that have very sadly been cast to the side and replaced with the religion of politics and power. Let us honor King by seeing America as he presented it then, as embodying the ideals of a free nation under God. And then we can join hands and sing, as King appealed, “the words of the old Negro spiritual: ‘Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.'”

- Wisconsin Judge Rules Ballot Drop Boxes, Ballot Harvesting Violate State Law
A Wisconsin judge ruled Thursday that ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting cannot be used in the midterm elections because “there is no statutory authority” for the practices. Wisconsin Judge Rules Ballot Drop Boxes, Ballot Harvesting Violate State Law (townhall.com) The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty filed a lawsuit on behalf of two plaintiffs challenging the legality of the drop boxes. Absentee ballot drop boxes were used widely during Wisconsin elections in 2020. The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) issued memos to Wisconsin clerks in March and August of 2020 encouraging their use, stating that absentee ballots do not need to be mailed by the voter or delivered by the voter, in person, to the municipal clerk, but instead could be dropped into a drop box. According to WEC, ballot drop boxes can be unstaffed, temporary, or permanent. This advice was contrary to state law. Voting is a constitutional right, but state law makes clear that, “voting by absentee ballot is a privilege exercised wholly outside the traditional safeguards of the polling place.” There are just two legal ways in Wisconsin to submit an absentee ballot. When voting by absentee ballot, state law says “[t]he envelope [containing the ballot] shall be mailed by the elector, or delivered in person, to the municipal clerk issuing the ballot or ballots.” An unstaffed, unsupervised absentee ballot drop box does not meet either of these legal options. And it raises significant concerns that elections are not being conducted legally and that Wisconsin voters will not have certainty that their votes will be counted if cast in this manner. (WILL) "It's all good and nice, but there's no authority to do it," Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren said about the drop boxes. Recommended

Every American, vaccinated or not, should oppose vaccine mandates. They violate your civil rights, medical privacy, and the rule of law. The Playhouse has no legal authority to impose mandates. Even if you do not live in Henderson County, you can oppose this illegality of a vaccine mandate at the playhouse by writing a short note to the commissioners. It’s discriminatory, violates your individual rights, medical privacy, and the rule of law. (Civil Rights Act) We need these signatures for the January Commissioner’s Meeting January 19th at 9:30AM at 1 Historic Courthouse Square, Hendersonville, NC 28792 Don’t Fund Flat Rock Playhouse Fascism! Henderson County Commissioners Chairman William Lapsley, Vice Chairman Rebecca McCall Commissioners: Michael Edney, David Hill, Daniel Andreotta (828) 697-4808 Dear Commissioners: As citizens of the United States of America and tax payers of Henderson County, we are pressing the Henderson County Commissioners to exercise fiscal responsibility and adherence to their oath of office and deny the Flat Rock Playhouse our tax dollars. The Flat Rock Playhouse is requiring vaccine passports. The playhouse receives public funds – our tax dollars. This discriminatory action by them is the hallmark of communist dictatorships, not a 245-year-old constitutional republic like the United States of America. By requiring vaccine passports, the Flat Rock Playhouse that receives our tax dollars, discriminates and violates our individual rights, bodily integrity, medical privacy, and the rule of law.Since you have the authority to allocate our tax dollars, you have the authority to them take away. The courts will almost certainly strike down the vaccine mandate pronouncement by the nameless, faceless, unelected bureaucrats at OSHA because it is unconstitutional. Congress did not give OSHA the authority to mandate vaccines let alone the Flat Rock Playhouse. Several years ago, this body of commissioners gave $100,000 bail out to the Flat Rock Playhouse for their failed business model of opening a theater on Main Street. The hubris of the guy in charge of the theater had the gall to stand before you and tax payers and proclaim that we should be grateful and honored that the theater is here. They now have the audacity to use our hard-working taxpayer dollars to divide us and violate our right to medical privacy. In this country, medical privacy is the right of every American citizen. Whether we take a COVID-19 vaccine or not should be no one’s business – not the federal government or the Flat Rock Playhouse. We, the undersigned, strongly urge you to deny our hard-earned tax dollars to the Flat Rock Playhouse and any other publicly funded entity that violates our inalienable right to privacy and the rule of law. Do not fund their fascism. Thank you. - Election Investigators Make Surprise Move in WI
Breaking Exclusive: Election Investigators Make Surprise Move in WI, Blanket State with Subpoenas Related to 2020 Election The investigation into Wisconsin’s elections is still ongoing as special counsel Michael Gableman continues looking into how voting in the state was carried out in the 2020 general election. Gableman is now issuing about 70 subpoenas to state entities and employees, special interest groups, private companies, mayoral staffers and IT departments, throughout Wisconsin to obtain records, depositions and more information on the election process and organizations that seem to have had a hand in the administration of elections. Gableman, who was previously a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, was asked by Speaker of the Wisconsin state Assembly Robin Vos to lead an investigation into the 2020 election in the state. Gableman agreed and was appointed as special counsel. The investigation is looking into several components of what went on during the election. Gableman is looking into how Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the money he donated to the Center for Tech and Civic Life influenced the election, what the Wisconsin Election Commission was doing, the conduct of the mayors and the municipal clerks, the operation of the voting machines and other factors which might have influenced the election. Wisconsin elections are not administered by the secretary of state, like in other states. Instead, Wisconsin’s State Ethics Board and the Wisconsin Election Commission work in collaboration with a large number of municipal clerks, county clerks and election inspectors during election season. TRENDING: UPDATE: Stalinist Censorship of Gateway Pundit by T-Mobile Makes It on their Members Board -- Users Urge Calls to State Attorneys General Many municipal clerks throughout the state live in very small towns, but in contrast, there are clerks in Wisconsin’s five biggest cities: Madison, Racine, Kenosha, Green Bay and Milwaukee. The clerks, however, are not independent authorities and report to the mayor, the city’s common council or the state elections commission. Now Gableman is specifically looking into these cities’ mayors, clerks and staffers and how they might have been influenced by funding from the CTCL, which, thanks to generous donations from Zuckerberg, gave approximately $350 million to communities to run elections. A source close to the investigation told The Western Journal that, in short, CTCL approached these five Wisconsin cities and offered $8.8 million grants to help keep voters safe from COVID. The group reportedly offered this money even though the source said the federal government, under the Trump administration, had already given $7 million to make sure clerks had enough PPE, sanitation and anything else needed to keep voters safe from COVID-19. According to the source, each mayor of the five cities took “good faith” money. Racine allegedly received $60,000 and the other four cities received $10,000 each. Once they took this initial grant, CTCL sent questionnaires to see if the five cities then qualified for the full $8.8 million grant, the source said. The questionnaire asked what the city was going to do to drive up the vote in what they deemed were historically disenfranchised neighborhoods, according to the source. Gableman already issued subpoenas to the mayors of the cities. The next round of subpoenas that have just been issued, according to the source, is to mayoral staffers and IT departments in order to find information on how the cities used the money from CTCL. Already, hundreds of pages of emails between Milwaukee election officials and CTCL have been made public. Another part of the election that Gableman is looking into, according to the source, is concerns regarding the Wisconsin Election Commission, which has also been issued a subpoena in order to see the voting data in the state and specifically, to see the rolls of registered, active and inactive voters. Deactivated voters include those who are dead or have moved away. According to the Help America Vote Act passed in 2002, states are supposed to have voter records. But dead voters should not be on the rolls of voters. So the source said Gableman is subpoenaing WEC in order to have access to the voter rolls. The source told The Western Journal that the most recent subpoenas Gableman issued were all in-state for the WEC, mayoral staffers, IT records and more. But while the subpoenas issued are all in-state, Gableman’s team anticipates additional subpoenas for others involved in the election, the source said. One major player in the election was the companies that ran the machines, such as Dominion Voting Systems. Gableman’s investigation is subpoenaing the companies in order to know exactly how the machines work and check the security of the systems, according to the source. Gableman is also looking into other figures and organizations (including CTCL itself) from out of state who may have had a hand in ballot harvesting and other roles in the election, the source said. His team is allegedly working on getting subpoenas for these. The source close to the investigation said the team is expecting pushback on every single subpoena issued, but as that happens, the investigation will continue. According to the source, the group will move on to the higher courts as necessary, in order to keep investigating all of what went on in the 2020 election. This article appeared originally on The Western Journal.
