Lee (R) (919) 715-2525   New Hanover    Representativies Clampitt, Gillespie, and Pless, all WNC Representatives from Jackson, Swain, Transylvania, Cherokee, Graham, Macon, Haywood, Graham and Madison , did not support S382 that transfers our elections administratively to the Department of the State Auditor and takes our elections out of the hands of the Governor and the NC State Board of Elections and gives election administration to the NC Auditor. 1) Call and put pressure on Representatives Clampitt, Gillespie and Pless, all from WNC, and tell them to support S382 to override Cooper's veto. They will be standing in the way unless you convince them otherwise. Message: Call and keep calling! The NC State Board of Elections will be dissolved into the State Board and under the perview of the state Auditor and out of the hands of the governor. There will be 3 Rs and 2 Ds to serve on state and local local boards of elections. The Auditor will appoint Board of Elections members, not the governor. This is a win, win. See SB382, pg 30 here. The veto is possible because right now , Republicans have a supermajority that they lost in the 2024 elections. The super majority window is closing! Message: The Federalist recently published NC Republicans Move To Limit Democrat Governor’s Power Over Elections After Likely Losing Supermajority . Now, The Outgoing North Carolina Governor (Cooper) Vetoes Bill That Would Give GOP More Power .  Will you override Cooper’s veto NOW and pass H382 to restore confidence in our elections? You want our support, you need to support this bill to restore confidence in our elections. SB382, TRANSFERS STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS TO STATE AUDITOR SECTION   SECTION 3A.2.(a)  Rep Mike Clampitt (R) 919-715-3005    District 119. Jackson ,  Swain ,  Transylvania Rep Karl E.  Gillespie (R) 919-733-5859   House  Majority Whip - District 120 Cherokee ,  Clay ,  Graham ,  Macon Rep.  Mark Pless Republican  - District 118 919-733-5732   Haywood ,  Madison 2) The Senate Rules and Operations Committee did not pass H770, Cast Vote Records, that our Auditor needs to conduct a true forensic audit. To make matters worse, Cast Vote Records, H770 , passed with bipartisan support on 9/20/23.  It’s been languishing in the Senate Rules Committee for 15 months! Cast Vote Records (CVRs) H770, is an essential artifact for post-election audits to reconcile and to restore confidence in our elections (which we still do not have). Why transfer authority of our elections from the governor to the auditor in S382 if you will not give him the tools he needs to conduct a true forensic audit? We don’t trust elections or machines because there is no transparency or oversight.   Was there truly cross over voting from a Republican President to Democrats in the NC cabinet, Senate and House? Only CVRs will expose the truth. (The Senate Rules and Operations owns the   NC Election Protest 2024 going on right now.)  The Senate Rules could have passed Cast Vote Records during the short session and before the 2024 election as we urged, but they did not .  C ast Vote Records allows us  to see why all of the down ballot candidates lost. Cast Vote Records (CVSs) are the only way to a true forensic audit.  Message: For the Auditor to perform a true forensic audit, he needs Cast Vote Records, H770. The Senate Rules needs to give the Auditor the tools to restore confidence in our elections The Senate Rules needs to get H770 out of committee and to the floor for a vote now while they still have a veto proof majority which they will lose shortly. Republicans should leave a legacy of Election Integrity and not doubt and mistrust. There is a Senate Rules and Operations Committee meeting on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 10am. NCEIT team members will attend. • Ban the governor from controlling our elections. Call NC Reps Clampitt, Gillespie and Pless to override Cooper's Veto.

The Republican NC Senate overrode the Democratic Governor Cooper's veto that would ban incoming Gov Stein's control over our elections and transfer election power to the incoming Republican Auditor, Dave Boliek. ( NC Senate Overrides Cooper's Veto of SB382 ) The NC House now has to use their supermajority (while they still have it) to override Cooper's veto. Reps Clampitt, Gillespic, and Pless need to add their YEAH votes for the override. Please call them. The NC House will meet later this week to vote. Rep Mike Clampitt (R) 919-715-3005 District 119. Jackson ,  Swain ,  Transylvania Rep Karl E. Gillespie (R) 919-733-5859 House Majority Whip - District 120 Cherokee ,  Clay ,  Graham ,  Macon Rep. Mark Pless Republican - District 118 919-733-5732 Haywood ,  Madison Representativies Clampitt, Gillespie, and Pless: You did not support S382 that transfers our elections administratively to the Department of the State Auditor and takes our elections out of the hands of the Governor and the NC State Board of Elections and gives election administration to the NC Auditor. Please support S382 to override Cooper's veto. You will be standing in the way of restoring transparency and confidence in our elections as evidenced by NC Election Protest 2024 . You are losing your super majority and an opportunity to contribute to election integrity. The window is closing. The Federalist recently published NC Republicans Move To Limit Democrat Governor’s Power Over Elections After Likely Losing Supermajority . You want our support, you need to support this bill to restore confidence in our elections. Please do the right thing for the citizens of North Carolina and vote to pass S382 before it's too late and we are stuck for who knows how long with elections that no one trusts. Thank you. -- Jane Bilello As Thomas Jefferson wrote to his friend Richard Price on January 8, 1789:  “… whenever the people are well informed they can be trusted with their own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights.”

  • Just 11 days before-election day. Appeals shuts-down late absentee ballots in three states

In a landmark decision just days before Election Day, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a ruling that stops three states—Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas—from counting absentee ballots that arrive after Election Day, even if they were postmarked on or before that date. https://libertyonenews.com/shock-ruling-just-11-days-before-election-day-shuts-down-late-absentee-ballots/

  • Letter to Senate Rules: Pass Cast Vote Records H770

11/27/2024 Dear Senate Rules and Operations Committee:   Dear Senator Berger and the Senate Rules and Operations Committee:  Cast Vote Records, H770 , passed with bipartisan support on 9/20/23.  It’s been languishing in your Senate Rules Committee for 15 months.  Inexcusable.  2)  Cast Vote Records is an essential artifact for post-election audits to reconcile and to restore confidence in our elections (which we still do not have).  We don’t trust elections or machines because there is no transparency or oversight. Was there truly cross over voting from a Republican President to Democrats in the NC cabinet, Senate and House? (You own the   NC Election Protest 2024 .)  You could have fixed this before the 2024 election as we urged, but you did not.  C ast Vote Records allows us to see why all of the down ballot candidates lost and protests are being filed! Were there really cross over votes or not? CVRs are the only way to a true forensic audit.  The Federalist recently published NC Republicans Move To Limit Democrat Governor’s Power Over Elections After Likely Losing Supermajority  But,  The Outgoing North Carolina Governor (Cooper) Vetoes Bill That Would Give GOP More Power . Why would you pass SB382 and not give the Auditor the tools he needs to restore confidence in our election to perform a true forensic audit?  The Auditor needs Cast Vote Records.   You can pass H770 now while you still have a veto proof majority.  You are going to lose that super majority shortly. • NCGOP Moves to Limit Democrat Governor's Power Over Elections After Likely Losing Their Supermajority

Your representatives and senators in the North Carolina General Assembly did absolutely nothing with election integrity in spite of our repeated efforts to get them to pass legislation during the 2023 short session. They are now trying to take our state elections out of the hands of the governor and place it with the Auditor. In addition, they also have a narow window to pass H770 Cast Vote Records before the new session is sworn in. The bill has been languishing in the Senate Rule committee since September of 2023. The darlings are now scrambling to fix the mess. The Federalist 11/23/24: NC GOP Moves to Limit the Democrat Governor's Power Over Elections After Likely Losing Their Supermajority. Link to NCEIT CEO Jim Womack's letter to Senate Rules " ...   Without cast vote records, the auditor lacks the tools needed to perform a post-election tabulation audit.  As it stands now, there is no audit and there will be no audit of the most recent election.  (The "Risk Limiting Audit" that NCSBE performs on itself has zero meaningfulness from a statistical and evidentiary perspective.  Everyone knows that.) The lack of legislative action by the State Senate on this bill contributes to public distrust of our elections.  Moreover, it greatly complicates the new Auditor's ability to ensure the NCSBE does its job effectively.  You have the opportunity now to fix this glaring deficiency.   There are two or more scheduled sessions of the NCGA prior to adjournment.  Please endeavor to pass this bill and then to override the likely gubernatorial veto that will ensue.  This action is very important to citizens statewide. ..." • NC Election Protest 2024

On Tuesday, Jefferson G. Griffin, the Republican candidate in NC Supreme Court race, requested a recount. The RNC and the @NCGOP are filing hundreds of protests over 60,000 ballots that should NOT HAVE BEEN COUNTED in the N Supreme Court race. The NCSBE failed to administer this election fairly. NCEIT has also filed complaints (prior to the 2024 election) for identification on ballots that lack social security numbers and drivers' license numbers along with dead people and felons. The NC General Assembly failed to act during the 2024 short session to address election integrity issues. This is how our elections are stolen. We are now stuck with untangling this. They can still pass H770 Cast Vote Records while they still have the supermajority to override Cooper's veto. Two Action Items! TAKE ACTION! Call Your NC Senators. Pass Cast Vote Records Bill H770. CVRs will tell us why down ballot candidates lost. Take Action! Please check with your local BOE and attend the protest meeting in your county as an observer. The other side shows up. We need to do the same. Henderson county's protest meeting is Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 1PM.
