Heritage Action for America Saturday Summary, January 22, 2022: It was another eventful week on Capitol Hill. On Wednesday, Democrats failed in their attempt to nuke the filibuster and rig election rules, while on Friday, thousands of pro-life activists marched to the Supreme Court to mark the anniversary of Roe. v Wade and call attention to the pro-life cause. Things are happening in state capitals too. We made a promise to you that in 2022 we are going to continue to bring the fight to the states on the most important issues: election integrity, protecting the sanctity of life, and ensuring critical race theory doesn’t discriminate against our children at school. And this week, Georgia introduced an anti-CRT bill to ensure kids are free to think and free to learn—and Heritage Action activists are already rallying in support. Let’s dive in. The Senate Stays Intact On Wednesday, Senator Schumer and Senate Democrats were dealt a major blow to their efforts to abolish the legislative filibuster and cram through their election rigging bills. Moderate Senators Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) bucked party lines and voted with Senate Republicans to preserve the filibuster and protect voting rights. Looking ahead: Having failed to pass “Build Back Better” and their election bills, Pelosi and Schumer will now turn their attention to their next obstacle…government funding. Back in December President Biden signed a bill to fund the government through February 18 with a continuing resolution, meaning Congress must come together in agreement by that date with an appropriations bill to stave off a shutdown and fund the government through the rest of fiscal year 2022 (which ends in September). Complicating the issue for Dems is March 1—the scheduled date of Biden’s first State of the Union Address. With two massive legislative failures under their belts, they will look for a big win on government funding before Biden’s big speech. Wade could be overturned by the Supreme Court with a ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, a case directly challenging the Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling on Roe v. Wade. It’s important to remember that if Roe v. Wade is overturned, this does not mean that abortion will become illegal. The power will be placed back in the hands of the states to determine their own abortion laws. 10 COVID-19 'Truths' That Weren't True (dailysignal.com) The media, health officials, and Big Tech have been quick to condemn COVID-19 “misinformation” or conspiracy theories. They’ve censored social media posts and banned users, from high-profile lawmakers to your grandmother. They’ve locked down the country, shuttered businesses and churches, arrested pastors, ordered the masking of children for years, and fired essential workers over resisting mandated vaccinations. All for the sake of “slowing the spread” of the coronavirus pandemic. We now know that we have been lied to by the very people who claimed to be protecting us, and we have been lied to repeatedly. So, let’s take a look at just a few of the COVID-19 conspiracy theories that weren’t: 10 times that media, health officials, or our very own president were proven to have lied about the coronavirus pandemic. 1. 15 Days to Slow Spread Experts and health officials promised in March 2020 that we needed just “15 days to slow the spread.” Almost two years later, we’ve seen almost 700 days of mandates, lockdowns, quarantines, shaming, hysteria, and travel restrictions—with no stated end in sight. 2. Face Masks During the early days of the pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that Americans not wear face masks and the U.S. surgeon general urged us to stop buying masks. But in April 2020, the CDC said that all Americans should wear face coverings to avoid transmission of the virus, leading to culture wars over mask mandates across the country, heavy shaming of those who chose not to wear masks, and viral videos of often violent confrontations between Americans (and that’s not even touching the mask situation with children). Then, the CDC said in May that vaccinated Americans don’t need to wear masks in almost any setting, and now most media outlets are reporting that cloth masks just don’t work and that we should try N95s. 3. Vaccine Mandates In December 2020, President-elect Joe Biden promised that he would not force Americans to be vaccinated. But this year, the Biden administration did exactly what Biden said they wouldn’t do and mandated that health care workers and workers at U.S. companies with more than 100 employees get vaccinated. The Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration from enforcing the mandate on businesses and organizations—but health care workers who choose not to get vaccinated will still lose their jobs. And now that Americans are seeing that the vaccinations don’t fully stop COVID-19, more and more questions are being asked about why Biden is mandating vaccines. 4. Lab Leak Theory Remember when we were all told that the coronavirus originated in a Chinese wet market? Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., was lambasted by the media for suggesting the coronavirus actually originated in an infectious disease lab rather than an animal market as the Chinese government claimed. Snopes called Cotton’s claims “speculative,” the BBC called them “unfounded,” and The Washington Post went so far as to say that the lab leak theory was “debunked.” After New York magazine published an expose highlighting the legitimacy of the theory, many of those media outlets published stories confirming the legitimacy of the lab leak theory. Now we know that scientists consulting with the U.S. government early in the pandemic believed that the coronavirus originated in a Wuhan lab—but Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Francis Collins worked to shut that hypothesis down. 5. Kids Should Go Remote, Schools Should Close Activists, commentators, and teachers unions argued throughout 2020 and 2021 that schools should close out of fear of spreading coronavirus cases from child to child and from child to teacher—though multiple studies suggest that COVID-19 does not easily spread among children and being in school settings didn’t create outbreaks. One commentator in an Atlantic piece suggested that school closures could result in “flexible, adaptable, and resilient” kids, sparking heavy backlash from conservatives. Now, after months and even years of children missing school, even The New York Times is publishing stories warning that closing schools would be a “tragic mistake,” recognizing that “hospitalization and death is uncommon in children.” 6. Vaccines Will End COVID-19 We were repeatedly promised by Biden, Fauci, and many others that Americans who got vaccinated would not get COVID-19. Biden said, “You’re not going to get COVID if you get vaccinated.” Fauci said, “When people are vaccinated, they can feel safe that they are not going to get infected.” Now, as we see many vaccinated people continuing to get COVID-19, we know for a fact that this isn’t true. Vaccinated Americans can still get COVID-19, though their symptoms are usually less severe, and they are less likely to die from the virus. As Fauci said in January, “Omicron, with its extraordinary, unprecedented degree of efficiency of transmissibility, will ultimately find just about everybody.” 7. Vaccines Don’t Affect Menstrual Health Many American women expressed concerns early on about how vaccines would affect their fertility, complaining on social media that their menstrual cycle had changed since getting the vaccine. Media and health officials repeatedly assured the public that there was no evidence to suggest COVID-19 vaccines negatively affect fertility—until January 2022, when a new study found that women had an average menstrual cycle length of about one day longer than usual after getting vaccinated. Health officials say the change is small and temporary, noting that plenty of vaccinated women have gotten pregnant. But many women have criticized media dismissals of their concerns, saying they deserve real answers from medical professionals about how the vaccine affects their fertility. 8. No Masks After Vaccines We were promised that vaccinations would end COVID-19 and that Americans would no longer have to mask after they were vaccinated. But the CDC changed its mask guidance when it found in July 2021 that vaccinated people could still get the COVID-19 delta variant. And across the country, left-wing politicians like D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser continue to mandate masks for indoor businesses and events. 9. Fauci Didn’t Fund Gain-of-Function Research Fauci has repeatedly denied that agencies under his direction engaged in gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The media called pushback on this claim from people like Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., “misinformation,” but a high-ranking National Institutes of Health officer admitted in an Oct. 20 letter that the Wuhan Institute of Virology had failed to immediately notify that it had engaged in what sure looks a lot like gain-of-function research, creating a lab-generated chimeric coronavirus between June 2018 and May 2019 that tested more deadly on mice with humanized cells than the natural virus it was made from. And the same day that the NIH officer sent that letter, the NIH edited its definition of gain-of-function. 10. ‘Pandemic of Unvaccinated’ Biden and Fauci have repeatedly blamed the unvaccinated for “propagating” outbreaks of the coronavirus delta and omicron variants. As recently as Jan. 13, Biden said that “this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” ignoring the many, many vaccinated Americans who have contracted COVID-19 as of late. Comment Submitted by John Pizzo, Raleigh Resident Back in 2012, I was able to obtain a list of more than 3,000 people from my county who had to recuse themselves from jury duty based on a self-declared lack of citizenship. Of that number of admitted non-citizens, I was able to locate 528 who were "somehow" on my county's voter rolls, including 247 who had already voted at least once. How many more are doing so now, a decade later. They committed vote fraud and were able to get away with it. Many of them are likely still getting away with it. If you ever wonder why the Democrats are encouraging millions of foreigners to illegally enter the US every year, there is your answer as to "WHY." February 2, 2022 The COVID Narrative is Falling Apart - American Thinker The COVID Narrative is Falling Apart By James Stansbury Joe Biden claims this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated and wants everyone in the world vaxxed with the “safe and effective” vaccines. In addition, he plans to distribute millions of "effective" N-95 masks. Anyone paying attention knows this is a big lie. Masks may be a comforting placebo, but even the N95s don’t work as advertised. And new revelations about dangerous vaccine side effects have surfaced despite media suppression. New Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin made masks and vaccinations optional for state employees and public schools. Immediately some parents, teachers, and school boards threw a hissy fit (at least seven lawsuits have resulted so far). Meanwhile, those who voted for him see this as much-needed relief from a pandemic that has run its course. Why is there so much disagreement? The late Malcolm Muggeridge put it this way; “People do not believe lies because they have to, but because they want to.” Think about it; the Left and their media allies have terrified our children and ordinary citizens so much that they desperately want to believe masks and vax mandates are the only answer. Anyone who disagrees must be silenced, socially destroyed, or even allowed to die by withholding organ transplants or life-saving therapeutics. I was taught the only way to fight a lie is with the truth. However, I also know those who placed all their hope in the big COVID lie will do whatever it takes to silence anyone who disagrees. Just ask Joe Rogan about being silenced. It is nearly impossible to overcome emotion with facts, but I will present some anyway: 1). Alarming vax side effects reported by military whistleblowers. This story made a few waves last week when Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) included a mention in his five-hour Senate hearing. The information came from the Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED), a mundane accounting tool used to track all medical diagnoses of military personnel and dependents for insurance billing purposes. DMED did better than the CDC’s ineffective Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Following is a summary of the most alarming vax side effects: Myocardial infarction (heart attack) -- 269% increase Cancer diagnoses -- 300% increase Miscarriage -- 300% increase Bell’s palsy -- 291% increase Congenital malformations (for children of military personnel) – 156% increase Female infertility -- 471% increase Pulmonary embolisms -- 467% increase Neurological issues -- 1,000% increase 2). Athletes are mysteriously dying of sudden heart attacks: In Dec. 2021, Lorphic News, a non-traditional news source reported on the extraordinary number of physically fit, fully vaccinated athletes experiencing fatal heart attacks. This claim was systematically denied by most news sources. However, a chart compiled by the Federation Internationale de Football [soccer] Association (FIFA) confirms this is real and like the above military data, is based on a large sample size. FIFA has member athletes from 209 countries and has routinely tracked athlete health data for 20 years. Their long-term data confirms a fivefold increase in sudden cardiac deaths in only six months of 2021. 3). Vaccines now have negative efficacy: Data has surfaced claiming that continued use of the original vax is causing negative efficacy. Negative efficacy doesn't mean the protection fades. It means the opposite: it means the vaccines are now weakening the immune system. It became clear that countries with the highest vax rates were the most likely to experience a surge in both cases and deaths. You can monitor five representative countries' daily death rates here. Note that India is included because India was the only one to allow the widespread early use of inexpensive therapeutics. Initially, their protocol included hydroxychloroquine but when the more deadly delta variant hit they switched to a protocol that included ivermectin. India had far better results than the others in taming COVID. In the above sample, Australia had the most severe police state lockdowns, mask mandates, and a high vax rate of around 80%. After some initial success, it has suddenly gone from near zero cases and deaths to having an explosion in both. Since spring of 2021 Sweden, noted for its minimal mandates, had maintained near-zero cases and deaths as a result of achieving herd immunity early. All that changed when for reasons unknown Sweden pushed vaccinations despite the herd immunity achievement. As a result, Sweden’s flat-lined case and death rate also spiked, thus indicating its herd immunity achievement is compromised by vax negative efficacy. 4). Omicron provides long-lasting natural immunity: A peer-reviewed article titled “Cross-reactive memory T cells associate with protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection in COVID-19 contacts” published Jan. 10 in the scientific journal Nature provided a warning and some encouragement: Once widespread infection (such as the Omicron wave) occurs across the world, the virus will eventually circulate endemically, meaning that infections may still happen but with milder symptoms and much less mortality. recommended by

Truths, Ideals of MLK’s Message Have Been Lost to Wokeism By Star Parker The Daily Signal We celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the third Monday of January. This year, that’s Jan. 17. On Aug. 28, 1963, King delivered one of the great speeches in American history, popularly known as the “I Have a Dream” speech. It is a speech that must be dusted off and studied anew today, because it contains the very message that our nation sorely needs to hear and digest now. It’s a message that has been tragically lost and buried and replaced with great and destructive distortions. Two things jump out when reading through that speech: One is how this black preacher captured in his words that day the heart and soul of America. Second, how King’s great message that day stands in total contrast to the rhetoric peddled by today’s progressives as the remedy to our racial strife. The indictment of the woke movement is that America is the problem. King offered up America as the solution. He talked about the “magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.” “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'” The problem, as King explained, is not America or the eternal truths that were brought to bear in its founding. The problem was the failure of the nation to live up to the challenges of its great founding principles. That was the heart of King’s message that day. He appealed to the nation to realize the dream of its Founding Fathers, not to crush it and bury it, as we hear today. The problem is not white people. “The marvelous new militancy … must not lead us to a distrust of all white people,” he said. And, of course, the most memorable and oft-quoted line of the speech, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” What has happened instead? Where has this great message of King gotten lost? In the name of racial justice, our race campaigns today are defined by selection and placement based on race, based on the color of skin, and not based on the content of character, as King implored the nation to do. King’s speech is divided into three parts. Part one is an appeal to the nation to live up to its great founding principles. Part two is an appeal to black Americans to rise up and act accordingly in the noble cause of the pursuit of liberty and justice. Let’s not drink “from the cup of bitterness.” Part three is an appeal to the ideals of the Christian soul of the nation. He quoted the prophet Isaiah that “the crooked places will be made straight … and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.” Biblical truths and ideals have been sadly lost to wokeism, which has for all practical purposes become a religion in itself. Let’s honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. now, as we come out of COVID-19 and enter 2022, by revisiting and taking to heart the great truths he spoke on that summer day in Washington, D.C., in 1963. They are great truths that have very sadly been cast to the side and replaced with the religion of politics and power. Let us honor King by seeing America as he presented it then, as embodying the ideals of a free nation under God. And then we can join hands and sing, as King appealed, “the words of the old Negro spiritual: ‘Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.'”

A Wisconsin judge ruled Thursday that ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting cannot be used in the midterm elections because “there is no statutory authority” for the practices. Wisconsin Judge Rules Ballot Drop Boxes, Ballot Harvesting Violate State Law (townhall.com) The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty filed a lawsuit on behalf of two plaintiffs challenging the legality of the drop boxes. Absentee ballot drop boxes were used widely during Wisconsin elections in 2020. The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) issued memos to Wisconsin clerks in March and August of 2020 encouraging their use, stating that absentee ballots do not need to be mailed by the voter or delivered by the voter, in person, to the municipal clerk, but instead could be dropped into a drop box. According to WEC, ballot drop boxes can be unstaffed, temporary, or permanent. This advice was contrary to state law. Voting is a constitutional right, but state law makes clear that, “voting by absentee ballot is a privilege exercised wholly outside the traditional safeguards of the polling place.” There are just two legal ways in Wisconsin to submit an absentee ballot. When voting by absentee ballot, state law says “[t]he envelope [containing the ballot] shall be mailed by the elector, or delivered in person, to the municipal clerk issuing the ballot or ballots.” An unstaffed, unsupervised absentee ballot drop box does not meet either of these legal options. And it raises significant concerns that elections are not being conducted legally and that Wisconsin voters will not have certainty that their votes will be counted if cast in this manner. Posted on December 26, 2021 by Jane` Bilello Every year, Asheville Tea Party (NCO197) participates in the Wreaths Across America. This year, Asheville Tea Party joined others at the wreath laying on December 18th, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at 962 Old US Highway 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711. We broke our previous records and were able to get volunteers to sponsor 42 wreaths! There are over 6,000 graves at the cemetery in Black Mountain. It is always an honor to do what we can for our vets. It's always an awesome sight to see so many participate, especially the children. The rain storm that arrived in time for the ceremony did not dampen our spirits or our appreciation for all of you. With your help, we will do this again next year to REMEMBER the fallen... HONOR those who Serve... TEACH our children the value of freedom!

They now have the audacity to use our hard-working taxpayer dollars to divide us and violate our right to medical privacy. In this country, medical privacy is the right of every American citizen. Whether we take a COVID-19 vaccine or not should be no one’s business – not the federal government or the Flat Rock Playhouse.
